Liam Walsh has worked in the UK Music Industry for over 20 years as a highly respected independent radio/TV plugger.

Formerly MD of a renowned record plugging company Red Alert, Liam now runs Ask Me PR, which he formed in 2008. He has promoted hundreds of artists from most genres, and contributed to their rise to fame. These artists include Oasis, The Killers, Moby, Feeder, Nick Cave, Doves, Bjork, Prince, Elbow, Pulp, Depeche Mode, Biffy Clyro, The Wombats and The Ting Tings. Liam has also been representing the prestigious, and highly influential Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize since 1994.

During his career, Liam has worked with various major record labels: Warner Music, Sony, EMI, Universal, BMG, Chrysalis and London Records and in addition their subsidiary labels too i.e. Deconstruction, ffrr etc. He has also promoted most of the large independent labels over the years: Mute, Rough Trade, Factory, Beggars Banquet, XL, Echo, Wall of Sound and One Little Indian on some of their most successful campaigns. Liam has also worked with start-up labels and emerging bands to raise their profiles, before they were signed e.g. The Coral, Badly Drawn Boy, The Ting Tings.

Liam’s experience extends to running two small independent record labels and managing various artists over the years. With this experience Liam has also become a music industry consultant – advising small labels and bands about the procedures necessary when releasing independent music and has used his expertise in social networking in terms of raising their profile.
